THE HELP CENTER

Less friction.
More creating.

A straightforward guide to getting started, taking your work with you, and finding help.

01 / GETTING STARTED

Set up your workspace.

VI Journey Core runs on Apple silicon Macs with macOS 14 or later. Open your DMG, drag VI Journey into Applications, and launch it from there.

In Settings, connect the account associated with your purchase. Create a project in a folder you can keep alongside your source media, then import the footage you want to work with.

02 / YOUR FIRST EDIT

Review. Curate. Build.

  1. Review your imported clips and mark Approved, Maybe, or Reject.
  2. Create buckets, choose useful source ranges, and leave notes about what matters.
  3. Open Editor Timeline, browse a bucket, and audition a candidate before adding it.
  4. Trim, reorder, split, or replace clips. Add music and adjust its timing and volume.
  5. Save your project. Render when you are ready to create the finished video.

Core’s manual timeline is available without Vibe, Studio, or ChatGPT.

03 / EXPORTS & ORIGINAL MEDIA

Your edit is yours to take.

Core supports a final video render, JSON/CSV curation exports, and OTIO timeline interchange. Your editorial exports preserve source references, selected ranges, bucket membership, annotations, and usage where the format permits.

For another editor, check its OTIO importer or adapter support. Some effects, fades, and audio adjustments may need to be recreated. VI Journey does not promise a feature-perfect transfer to every editing application.

Original media is not overwritten during review and editing. Keep your source files and local project backed up. Moving or renaming source files can affect references in your project and exports.

04 / PURCHASES & ACCESS

Keep your account connected.

If Core access does not appear, check the account shown in Settings and use the purchase refresh or restore control. For an Apple purchase, use the Apple account that made the purchase as well.

Contact support with your account email and purchase reference if you still need help. Apple purchases and direct purchases use different billing channels; tell us where you purchased so we can point you to the right next step.
